Green Tossed A Complete Game in 13-3 Win Over Normal
Bees starter Elijah Green tossed a complete game over seven innings, giving up three runs on six hits, allowing one walk and striking out nine in a 10-run rule win over Normal.
Designated hitter Ryan Grace once again led the Burlington offense in this 13-3 win. The lefty went 2 for 3, with a run batted in and a run scored.
Burlington rushed past the CornBelters in the bottom of the six, dropping eight runs on Normal. AJ Henkle opened the inning with a double to left. Ryan Grace followed with an RBI double down the right field line.
Nolan Elmore drove Grace home with a single. Gage Cruz walked. With one out Normal went to Spencer Smith from the pen. He walked Tucker Cole. A wild pitch advanced the runners and scored Elmore.
Patrick McGinn walked. Another wild pitch moved runners to second and third.
Lincoln Riley walked. Jared Hackbarth was hit by a pitch. AJ Henkle hit a sacrifice fly scoring McGinn. A stolen base, an error and a wild pitch plated three more runs.
That made the score 10-3 in favor of the Bees.
The Bees scored three more in the bottom of the seventh to close out the game.
Green took the win to go 1-1 on the year. Starter Bode Gebbink took the loss. He Is 4-4.
