Paints Can't Hold Lead, Fall in West Virginia 13-8

BECKLEY, W.Va. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, jumped out to a 6-0 lead Saturday night against West Virginia in Beckley, but the Miners used some big innings of their own to grab a 13-8 win.
Chillicothe (5-5, 26-15) got RBIs from Hunter Klotz, Anthony Steele, Nate Dorinsky and two from Mike Sprockett in the top of the first inning, grabbing an early 6-0 lead.
West Virginia (5-5, 16-23) scored six times in the bottom of the third inning on seven singles, tying the game a six a piece.
The Paints grabbed the lead back in the seventh, Ben Gbur doubled to lead off the inning, scoring on a double by the next batter, Tim Orr. Orr scored on a fielder's choice by Steele, giving Chillicothe an 8-6 lead at the stretch.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Miners had their second big inning of the night, a seven-run inning that included four hits, six walks and four Paints pitchers.
