Elmore Leads Bees Over Hoots

Catcher Nolan Elmore helped Burlington come from behind three times against O'Fallon Monday night, the last on a single in the bottom of the eighth to give the Bees what proved to be the winning 6-5 lead.

With the Hoots leading 1-0 in the third, the New Hampshire native homered for the second time in as many games to tie it at one.

In the eighth, Marcos Sanchez, who was 1-2 with two walks and two stolen bases on the evening, drew a one out walk.  After Weston Fulk lined out, Sanchez stole second.  Jaden Hackbarth drove him home with a single to center.  That made it 5-5.  Elmore followed with his game winner.

Adrian Nery was charged with all five O'Fallon runs, on eight hits over 5.1 innings.  He walked three and struck out two.  Jeron Conner threw 1.2 hitless, giving up one walk and striking out two.

Nick Tampa collected the win, going one frame.  He is 2-1.  Kyle Maurer earned his fourth save.  Bryce Grossius took the loss for the Hoots.  He is 0-1.
