Paints Win Seventh-Straight, Blank Miners 6-0

BECKLEY, W.Va. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, won their seventh-consecutive game Wednesday night, beating the West Virginia Miners 6-0 at Linda K Epling Stadium.

Chillicothe (10-3) scored the only run they needed in the top of the second inning. Connor Ashby plated Kade Wroot on a two-out RBI single, giving the Paints a 1-0 lead.

Santrel Farmer led off the fourth with his first home run of the season, giving the Paints a 2-0 lead.

Tim Orr led off the sixth with his second home run of the season, making it 3-0. With two outs in the inning, Ashby collected another RBI single, this time scoring Nate Dorinsky, putting the Paints in front 4-0.

Farmer hit his second home run of the game in the ninth. Later in the inning, Orr knocked home Jeron Williams, making it 6-0.

Justin Diefenbach (1-1) started on the mound for Chillicothe, turning in the longest outing by a Paints pitcher so far this season. The right-hander didn't allow a run over 7 1/3 innings, while scattering five hits, walking three and striking out 10.

Jace Middleton finished the final 1 2/3 innings, walking one and striking out two.

The Paints return to VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe Thursday night for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Champion City Kings. Draft beer will be just $2 for Thirsty Thursday.
