CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, used a late rally to beat the West Virginia Miners 5-1 at VA Memorial Stadium Saturday night.

After Paints started Gunnar Boehm kept the West Virginia (7-12, 18-30) bats quiet for the first three innings, the Miners would score first in the top of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly to centerfield by Connor Fizer, because of an error earlier in the inning, the run was unearned.

The Paints (13-9, 34-19) would get on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning. Following a single and stolen base from Cameron Bowen, Brett Carson tied the game with an RBI infield hit, making it 1-1.

After an absolute gem of a start, Boehm exited the game after the seventh inning due to being up against the Prospect League's pitch count limit. Boehm allowed one unearned run on three hits, striking out ten and walking just three. Nick Lallathin entered from the bullpen in relief, keeping West Virginia at bay in the top of the eighth.

In the bottom half of the eighth, the Paints strung together two singles and a walk to load the bases for Nate Dorinsky, who hit a two-run double that landed just inside the right field line, scoring Carson and Kade Wroot and giving Chillicothe its first lead of the game at 3-1. Hunter Klotz followed with an RBI groundout, scoring Mike Sprockett and extending the lead to 4-1. After that, Owen Wilson singled to left, scoring Dorinsky and giving Chillicothe a 5-1 lead going into the top of the ninth, where new Paints pitcher Nick Falter struck out the first two Miners and induced a popup to third, ending the ballgame. Lallathin earned the win for the Paints, his sixth of the season out of the bullpen.

The Paints are back in action Sunday night at VA Memorial Stadium, hosting the Rex at 6:05 p.m. It's the final Subway Kids Day of the year - kids 12 and under receive free admission - and it's Bark In The Park, sponsored by Petland.
