CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, overcame a 4-0 deficit Sunday night, scoring 14 runs in the seventh and eighth innings to win the 2022 Prospect League Championship in front of nearly 1,600 fans at VA Memorial Stadium.

Alton starter Alex Redman shut down the Paints for the first six innings, allowing no runs on just three hits, walking one and striking out three. Meanwhile, the River Dragons built a 4-0 lead.

With two runners on and two outs in the top of the fourth, Marcus Heusohn hit a slow bouncer to second base, forcing a hurried throw to go wide of first, allowing the first two runs to score and giving Alton a 2-0 lead.

They made it 3-0 in the fifth on Ethan Kleinheider's RBI fielder's choice.

Paints starter Nick Lallathin got a no-decision for hit efforts, allowing four runs, only one earned, on six hits over 5 2/3 innings. He didn't walk anyone and struck out seven. Isaac Danford collected the win in relief, not allowing a run or a hit and striking out 1 over the final 2 1/3 innings.
