Paints Fall 6-3 To Shrimp in Peru

PERU, Ill. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, lost to the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp 6-3 Thursday night at Peru's Schweickert Stadium.

The Pistol Shrimp jumped out to a 2-0 lead, thanks to a two-run home run from Kedren Kinzie in the bottom of the second inning, it was the first of three home runs for the home team.

Chillicothe tied the game on Nate Dorinsky's first home run of the season, a two-run blast to left field in the fourth inning.

Zach Lane hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth and two more came home on a wild pitch and a two-out hit from Nick Chavez, making it 5-2.

Max Handron homered in the bottom of the sixth, extending the Pistol Shrimp lead to 6-2.

The Paints got one back in the top of the eighth. Sean Kolenich led off the inning with a single, advancing to second on a hit by Cole Kwiatkowski. Kolenich scored on the play as the ball qas misplayed by the Illinois Valley right fielder.

Illinois Valley out hit Chillicothe in the game 14-5.

The Paints and Pistol Shrimp will play again in Peru Friday night at 8:05 p.m. EDT. Dylan Dudones is set to start for Chillicothe, Daniel Strohm will start for Illinois Valley.
