Paints Outrun Goats in Series Opener

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Wednesday night, in the first game of a two-game series with the Chillicothe Paints, the Jackson Rockabillys lost 12-3.

Designated hitter Brett Blankenship and right fielder Michael Bell accounted for all the Goats' runs in the contest. Blankenship went three for three with an RBI single in the top of the first inning. Bell drove in the other two runs with a two-run homerun in the third.

Chance Arender started for the Rockabillys and threw five innings of three run, nine hit ball. JD Klug took the loss, going two innings and allowing four runs. Harrison Freeman recorded one out in his appearance. He gave up five runs and walked three Paints' hitters. Cole McCallum got the last two outs for the Goats.

On Thursday, July 27th, the Rockabillys finish out their series with Chillicothe. They return home on Monday, July 31st, to face the Cape Catfish in the final Military Monday of the season. All active and retired members of the military will be honored with $1.00 admission, and there will also be a salute to our season ticket holders and player host families.
