Bees Pitching Struggles in 14-4 Loss to Quincy

Burlington starter Jared Townsend (1-6) lasted just two innings.  Reliever Hamilkar Medina also lasted but two, and Quincy pounded Bees pitching for 14 runs on 10 hits and 10 walks to take a 14-4 win in seven innings Friday night at Community Field.

On the other side of the coin, Gems' opener Tim O'Connor (1-0) tossed five full frames, allowing four runs on four hits.  Only one run was earned.  The righty walked two and struck out seven.

Right fielder Ryan Grace continued to drive in runs, collecting three in this game to following up his four last night.  Designated hitter Nolan Elmore had two of the Bees six hits, including a triple.  First baseman Weston Fulk also tripled.

Quincy center fielder Jaison Andujar, who came into the game batting .192, had a 3 for 4 night, scored three runs and had two runs batted in.  Shortstop Hayden Moore was 2 for 4 on the night.  He also scored three runs.

Burlington hosts Normal Saturday night.  Game time is 6:30 PM.
