Paints Beat REX 15-5 Saturday, Go 4-0 On Road Trip

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, pounded out 20 hits in a 15-5 win over the REX at Terre Haute's Bob Warn Field Saturday night. The Paints needed just eight innings to dispatch the REX, making it back-to-back games with run-rule victories for the Chillicothe.

The Paints (14-8) plated three runs in the top of the first and never looked back.

Victor Figueroa hit his second home run of the season in the top of the third, making it 4-1.

Chillicothe then plated five runs in the fourth to extened the lead to 9-1, Drew Donaldson knocked home two on a triple, Tim Orr hit a two-run home run and Arturo Disla drove in one in the inning, which also featured a couple REX errors.

After the REX (9-11) scored a couple runs in the fifth, making it 9-3, the Paints got busy again in the eighth.

Orr singled, scoring one, Victor Figueroa's fourth hit of the night - a double - scored one, Tyler Mendez doubled home a pair, Sammy Stoner singled home a run and Cole Kwiatkowski singled, socring the sixth run of the inning and making it 15-3.

The REX scored twice in the bottom of the eighth, but the Paints maintained the 10-run advantage, ending the game early. 

Colin Bryant (1-2) started for Chillicothe, allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits while not walking a batter and striking out seven to earn his first win of the year. Jackson Bergman threw the last three innings for the Paints, allowig two runs on four hits, walking two and striking out four to earn his first save of the seasn.

Figueroa finished the night with four RBIs, while Orr, Kwiatkowski and Donaldson drove in three each.

The Paints finish the road trip winning all four games and now return to Chillicothe to start a crucial three-game series against the Johnstown Mill Rats Sunday at 6:05 p.m. Kids 12 and under receive free admission and can run the bases and get player autographs after the game on Subway Kids Day.
