Maxwell Dominates in Bees Win

The Bees won an exciting Tuesday night game at Community Field by a score of 12-2 in seven innings.

The Quincy Gems could not get anything started as Burlington Bees starter Rem Maxwell had an impressive outing. He pitched the first six innings for the Bees allowing one earned run and striking out eight batters. Maxwell improved his record to 1-0, recording his first win of the season.

Bobby Helt came on in relief to finish off the final inning, pitching in his first game of the season.

Peyton Clampitt of the Quincy Gems took the loss allowing five runs, three earned, over a four inning performance.

For the Bees, there were two home runs on the night by sluggers Mason Schwalbach and Keanu Spenser. Kooper Schulte led the way with three RBI on three hits.

Behind the stellar pitching performances, Tanner Holland and Nick Tampa chipped in a phenomenal catch each. Holland slid to make a catch in shallow center and Tampa made an over the shoulder catch to limit the Gems offense.

The Bees improved their record to 3-3, and are 3-0 at home. Burlington tests their home record against the Normal CornBelters Wednesday night at 6:30 PM.
