Rockabillys Split with Hoots in Sunday Doubleheader

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Sunday, the Goats played a doubleheader with the O'Fallon Hoots, losing the first game 5-2 in seven innings and winning the second game 6-4 in eight innings.

Josh Furtado got the loss in the first game after pitching five innings of five-run, five-hit ball. Designated hitter Luke Lowery collected the two Rockabillys RBIs in the contest when he hit a two-run homerun in the top of the first.

Sam Poindexter started the second game for the Goats, going four innings and giving up four runs, while James Denten got the win as he pitched three innings and surrendered no runs. Carter Vrabel and Dylan LaRue each hit a long ball in the second inning. Vrabel also collected three more RBIs on the night.

The Rockabillys get an off day on Monday, July 3rd, before returning to Jackson on Tuesday, July 4th, to play the Cape Catfish. After the game, fans will be able to experience the biggest Fourth of July fireworks show in Jackson presented by H&R AgriPower.
