Goats Finned by the Catfish in Third Straight Loss

JACKSON, Tenn.—In the first matchup of their five-game road trip, the Rockabillys lost 7-3 to the Prospect League best Cape Catfish, who extended their winning streak to twelve games, making their record 12-0.

Riley Mertl got the start for the Goats and only retired one batter, allowing four runs and five walks. Josh Furtado and Thomas Greeson combined to throw the next 7.1 innings. Furtado struck out four Catfish, giving up two runs on one hit, while Greeson struck out three and surrendered only one run on two hits. James Denten got the final out for the Rockabillys.

The Goats outhit the Catfish eleven to five. However, the Rockabilly offense couldn't match the seven runs put up by the Cape hitters. Jake McCutcheon was two for four on the night with two doubles and two RBIs. Nicho Jordan hit a homerun to account for the other Rockabillys run.

On Wednesday, June 14th, the Goats will play the Alton River Dragons before beginning a two-game set with the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes on Thursday, June 15th.

Monday, June 19th, will feature the Rockabillys at home against the Burlington Bees and will be another Military Monday in which all veterans and active military members will be able to buy $1.00 general admission tickets.
