Paints Beat Lafayette 11-9 for Fifth-Straight Win
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - Despite making a season-high five errors, the Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, held on for an 11-9 victory of the Lafayette Aviators Friday night for their fifth-straight win.
The Paints (27-12, 5-3) jumped out to a 7-0 lead through two innings, scoring three in the first and four in the second.
Lafayette (19-17, 3-7) plated a pair of runs in the third and two more in the fourth, cutting it to a 7-4 ballgame.
Chillicothe was able to add on in the bottom of the fourth, scoring on a Tim Orr RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly by CJ Dean, making it 9-4.
The Aviators wouldn't go away, scoring five unearned runs in the top of the fifth, tying the game at 9-9.
In the bottom of the sixth, Dean collected his sixth RBI of the night with a sacrifice fly and Cole Kwiatkowksi scored on a wild pitch, making it 11-9, the eventual final.
Tyler Shaneyfelt finished 3-4 with four runs scored. Kwiatkowski went 4-5 with three runs scored. Orr finished 1-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Arturo Disla drove in a run on two hits and Cameron Bowen also tallied a hit and scored a run.
The Paints are home again Saturday night, hosting the Johnstown Mill Rats at 7:05 p.m.
