Rockabillys Offense Comes to Life in 17-13 Victory over Horseshoes

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Friday night, the Goats snapped their five-game losing streak by beating the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes 17-13.

Jackson native Tyler Smith started on the hill for the Rockabillys, throwing 4.2 innings while giving up two hits and six runs, only two of which were earned. Smith also struck out six Horseshoes hitters. Roman Smith came in for 2.1 innings of relief, allowing four earned runs and striking out three. Thomas Greeson pitched the final two innings and surrendered three runs on four hits. 

The Goats offense had 19 hits in the matchup with six Rockabillys getting more than one hit, including Griffin Cameron, Nicho Jordan, Wesley Mann, Jake McCutcheon, Brandon Valdez, and Aydan Hamilton. Carter Vrabel hit a home run and had two RBIs in the contest, and McCutcheon and Valdez collected three RBIs apiece.

On Saturday, June 17th, the Goats wrap up the road trip with a game against the Alton River Dragons before having an off-day on Sunday, June 18th.

The Rockabillys will host their third Military Monday on Monday, June 19th, against the Burlington Bees. All veterans and active military members will get $1.00 admission.

On Tuesday, June 20th, the Goats finish their series with Burlington, and Domino's Pizza presents the Zooperstars. Special guests like Harry Canary, Tommy Laswordfish, Clammy Sosa, and Shark McGwire will entertain and perform synchronized dance routines, acrobatics, tricks, and comedy for lots of fun and laughs.
