Paints Win 11th Straight, Down REX 3-0

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, won their 11th straight game Saturday night, beating the REX 3-0 at VA Memorial Stadium.

The Paints (21-8) broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the third. Owen Wilson led off with a single, advancing to second and then third on back-to-back bunt singles from Cameron Macon and Sammy Stoner. A wild pitch brought home Wilson, making it 1-0 Paints.

Victor Figueroa made it 3-0 Chillicothe, singling home Sean Kolenich and Sammy Stoner in the bottom of the fifth.

Jared Adams (2-0) turned in his best outing of the season, shutting out the REX over six innings while surrendering just three hits, walking three and striking out three. Mikey Olivieri made his Paints debut, working a scoreless seventh and Chad Rogers earned his second save after throwing the eighth and ninth innings, allowing two hits, walking two and striking out two.

Justin Bogard (0-1) made his first start of the season for the REX, allowing just three runs on six hits while walking two and striking out one over six innings. Donnie Dycus surrendered a pair of hits over his one inning of work and Nolan Miller gave up one hit in a scoreless eighth.

The Paints turned three double plays in the game, a metric they lead the Prospect League in with 29.

Chillicothe is home again Sunday, hosting Champion City for a doubleheader of seven-inning games. It's a Subway Kids Day, meaning kids 12 and uder get free admission and can run the bases and meet players on the field after the game.
