Paints Blank Thrillbillies, Grab 10-0 Run-Rule Win

MARION, Ill. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, earned their second shutout win of the season Friday night, beating the Thrillville Thrillbillies 10-0 in seven innings for their third-straight win.

Will Rettig (2-1) got the start for the Paints, turning in a six-inning gem, shutting the Thrillbillies out while allowing just three hits and striking out seven.

Chillicothe (13-8) got on the board in the top of the second, taking advantage of four-straight walks by Thrillville starter Matthew Derrick (1-1). With two outs, Cole Kwiatkowski singled home two more and an error on the play allowed a third run to come home, making it 4-0 Paints.

After the first two batters were retired to start the top of the fourth, Owen Wilson singled and Cameron Bowen walked. Kwiatkowski came through again with a two-out, two-run hit, this time doubling and making it 6-0. After Drew Donaldson walked, Tim Orr singled home a run, as the ball was misplayed in center field, the runners advanced and then the throw in from centerfield went to an unmanned area for second error on the play, allowing another Paints runner to score, making it 8-0. Arturo Disla was intentially walked and Sean Kolenich lined one into center field for a triple over the head of the Thrillbillies' centerfielder, scoring two more and making it 10-0.

Cole Pauley threw a scoreless seventh inning for the Paints, striking out two and securing the run-rule win for the Paints. Chillicothe has won the first three games of the road trip, six of its last seven games and seven of its last nine.

The Paints wrap up the road trip Saturday against the REX in Terre Haute, Ind. at 6:35 p.m.
