Goats Rocked by the Pistol Shrimp on Military Monday Night

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Military Monday Night, the Rockabillys went down 10-0 to the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp in the top of the first and could not make a comeback, ultimately losing 11-4.

Will Schnepf started for the Goats and only made it through the first inning after surrendering 10 runs on eight hits. Josh Furtado came in first for relief. He had a solid outing, going four innings and allowing no runs while striking out five Pistol Shrimp hitters. Bryce Dreher was also impressive in the three innings he threw as he gave up only one run and four hits. Braden Becker pitched the final inning for the Rockabillys.

Although the Goats only scored four runs, they had ten hits with Aydan Hamilton, Jaxin Settlemires, and Chris Godwin each having a multi-hit night. Hamilton and Godwin also drove in a run apiece, and Brett Blankenship hit an RBI double in the seventh inning.

On Tuesday, July 25th, the Rockabillys begin a five-game road trip in Terre Haute, Ind., against REX Baseball before returning home on Monday, July 31st, to face the Cape Catfish in what will be the final Military Monday of the season.
