Rockabillys Fall to the LumberKings 8-5 in Series Finale

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Texas Roadhouse Family Sunday Night, the Goats could not hang on to the lead in their 8-5 loss to the Clinton LumberKings.

The Rockabillys went ahead 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning and stayed ahead until the top of the seventh when Clinton scored four runs. Shortstop Tyler Heckert led the offense, going two for four with two RBIs. Leftfielder Nick Stamper drove in the other three runs of the night for the Goats.

Will Schnepf had a solid outing in his start as he threw five innings and allowed only one run while striking out six. Roman Smith came in first for relief and took the loss. He pitched 2.1 innings, giving up seven runs on five hits and also walking seven LumberKings hitters. James Denten and Bryce Dreher combined to throw the final 1.2 innings of the game.

The Rockabillys have an off day on Monday, July 17th, and then begin a three-game road trip on Tuesday, July 18th against the O'Fallon Hoots.

Jackson will face the Thrillville Thrillbillies on Wednesday, July 19th, and Thursday, July 20th, before returning home Friday, July 21st, to face the Quincy Gems in what will be another Fireworks Friday Night.
