Rockabillys Unable to Come out on Top in Scoring Fest with the Hoots

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Tuesday night, the Goats dropped the first game of their road trip 13-12 to the O'Fallon Hoots.

The Rockabillys outhit the Hoots 16-15 but were not able to score more than the Hoots' 13 runs. James Denten and Brandon Valdez both went deep for the Goats with Denten hitting a three-run homerun in the top of the third and Valdez slugging a two-run homer in the seventh. Six Rockabillys hitters had two or more hits on the night, including Denten and Valdez.

Josh Furtado got the start on the mound and went only four innings, allowing eight runs on ten hits. Juwan Fitch threw the next three innings and gave up three hits and three runs. Harrison Freeman did not record an out in his appearance but did surrender two runs, one hit, and one walk. Jamal Allen took the loss after throwing the eighth inning for the Goats.

Next up for the Rockabillys is The Thrillville Tighty Bowl on Wednesday, July 19th, which is the Thrillville Thrillbillies' version of the Battle of the Billys game held in Jackson on June 26th.

The Goats will wrap up the road trip on Thursday, July 20th, before returning home on Friday, July 21st to face the Quincy Gems in what will be Leaders Night at the park and will also feature Friday Night Fireworks.
