Billys Top Bees in Eleven

Billys Top Bees in Eleven

The Bees and Rockabillys went to extras to decide Saturday's game.  Jackson prevailed 4-3 in eleven.

Starting pitcher Cauy Massner gave Burlington a solid six and a third innings.  The Iowa Wesleyan righty scattered 10 hits, allowed three runs, walked two and struck out four in his longest outing of the year.

He gave way to Jaden Siemer, who threw three and a third scoreless, also his longest outing, carrying Burlington to extra innings.

The Bees opened the scoring in the home third on a Jackson Fisher single to left, a ground out and a Tanner Holland single to take a 1-0 lead.

The Billys tied it in the top of the fifth.

Burlington plated two in the bottom half when newcomer Corey Boyette singled behind a Brandon Bickford walk.  Jackson Fisher singled to load the bases.  One out later Holland singled again to drive in Boyette and Bickford.  Bees up 3-1.

A poorly executed rundown allowed an extra Jackson run to score, tying the game in the seventh.

Zeros prevailed through the bottom of the tenth, when Burlington loaded the bases, but could not score.

Chase Golden (1-1) took the lost, came in from the pen for Burlington to open the 11th.  With the designated runner on second, Jackson scored on a ground out and a sacrifice fly.

Burlington travels to Quincy on Sunday in a game that will end the first haf of the season.
