Goats out of Luck in First Game with the Horseshoes

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Thursday night, the Rockabillys dropped a heartbreaker 4-3 to the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes when the Horseshoes scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk it off.

The Goats got all three of their runs in the third inning. Braden Vinyard scored on a wild pitch, and Luke Lowery singled to drive in both Nicho Jordan and Griffin Cameron. Carter Vrabel and Cameron each had big nights at the plate with Vrabel going two for four and Cameron going three for five. Cameron also stole two bases.

Will Schnepf got the start for the Rockabillys and had a solid outing, going five innings while allowing only one run on three hits. Ethan Orwig threw two innings in relief and gave up one run on two hits. Jamal Allen got the loss as he threw the final 1.2 innings, surrendering the two Horseshoes runs in the ninth.

The Goats look to end their losing streak on Friday, June 16th, in the final game of the series with Springfield. On Saturday, June 17th, they will finish up the road trip against the Alton River Dragons.

The Rockabillys come home Monday, June 19th, to face the Burlington Bees on what will be Military Monday in which all veterans and active military members get $1.00 admission.

On Tuesday, June 20th, the Goats play the last matchup of their two-game series with the Bees, and Domino's Pizza presents the Zooperstars. Special guests like Harry Canary, Tommy Laswordfish, Clammy Sosa, and Shark McGwire will entertain and perform synchronized dance routines, acrobatics, tricks, and comedy for lots of fun and laughs.
