Rockabillys Sneak Past Thrillbillies 5-4 for First Win in Team History

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Tuesday night, the Rockabillys finally snapped their losing streak, beating the Thrillville Thrillbillies 5-4 in the series finale. This marks the first win in Rockabillys team history and also the first victory for Matt Franco and his staff.

Noah Pridmore got the start for the Goats and pitched a solid six innings, giving up only two runs on four hits. Reliever Thomas Greeson, who threw two innings and allowed one run, goes in the record books as the first Rockabillys pitcher to ever win a game, and Ethan Orwig sealed the deal, giving up only one run in the ninth inning on his way to recording the first save in Rockabillys history.

The Rockabillys bats got it done, pushing across five runs to the Thrillbillies four, thanks mostly in part to first baseman James Denten and second baseman Jake McCutcheon who collected all the RBIs on the night. Denten doubled in the first to score a run and also hit two RBI singles, one in the sixth and one in the eighth. McCutcheon gave the Goats the lead with his go-ahead, two RBI double in the eighth.

The Rockabillys will get an off-day on Wednesday, June 7th, and then on Thursday, June 8th, they start a three-game series against the Alton River Dragons. That game, which is being celebrated with Owens Corning, will be the first Throwback Thursday of the season, featuring $2.00 prices on 16 oz. domestic beer, 16 oz. Coca-Cola products, hamburgers, and hotdogs.

Fans can enjoy Friday Night Fireworks after the game on June 9th, and the Rockabillys will feature their first Extra Innings Band following the game on Saturday, June 10th.
