Hoots Remain Hot in 15-5 Win Over Bees

Hoots Remain Hot in 15-5 Win Over Bees

Just as they did Sunday afternoon, O' Fallon feasted on Bees pitching to the tune of 15 runs on 13 hits.  Four Burlington hurlers combine to issue 13 walks in the contest.   Starter Aiden McGee (1-2) took the loss.

The Bees had nine hits of their own, including Mason Schwalbach's fifth home run in the season in the bottom of the first inning.  It was a two run blast to right, giving him 24 RBI on the year.

McGee gave the lead right back to the Hoots in the top of the second, when he allowed three consecutive one out singles and walked a run home.  Four more consecutive singles plated five more Hoots, and just like that it was 6-2 visitors.

Caleb Wulf opened the bottom of the home second with one of his two hits on the night.  To outs later he advanced to second on a wild pitch, then to third in the same play on an error by the catcher.

Burlington came back within a score in the third.

Keanu Spenser struck out swinging, but reached first on a wild pitch.  He was erased on a Coy Sarsfield fielder's choice.  Sarsfield advanced to second on a passed ball.  He scored on a Kooper Schulte double.  That made it 6-5, but that is as close as the Bees would get.

Schulte also had two hits in the game.  The Arizona Central College shortstop came into today hitting a team high .344.

O' Fallon blew the game open with six more runs in the top of the fourth and three more in the six.

The game ended by mercy rule when Burlington failed to score in the final four frames.

Drew Politte earned the win ro bring his record to 4-2.

The Bees continue the home stand on Tuesday when first year league members Jackson Rockabillys come to town.  First pitch is at 6:30 PM.
