One to Forget for the Bees

One to Forget for the Bees

The O' Fallon Hoots brought their hitting shoes when they rolled into Burlington, for the first game of a two-game set at Community Field Sunday afternoon.

Hoot's batters banged Bees starter Cauy Massner for three runs in each of the first three innings.  They touched him up for 9 runs on 11 hits.

On a day when Burlington could only muster six scattered hits, O'Fallon's one through five batters went 10 for 26, and scored seven runs.

Hoots' left fielder Ethan Rossow was 3 for 5 with a run scored.

Bees' center fielder Tanner Holland hit his first home run of the season.  It was a one out shot to right in the home fifth.  The Arizona Central sophomore was 2-4 on the day.

Massner was charged with the loss.  He moves to 0-4 on the year.  Matt Haley earned the win, giving the Hoots seven great innings of work.  He is now 1-2 on the season.

In the end, it was one the Bees will toss aside as the two teams meet again on Mystery Monday and Pups and pints evening at Community Field.  Game time is 6:30 PM.
