Paints Win 11-1, Sweep Rockabillys

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by CohenOrthopedic, needed just one hour and 39 minutes to pick up an 11-1 mercy-rule victory of the Jackson Rockabillys Thursday night at VA Memorial Stadium, securing a two-game sweep of the Prospect League's newest member.

The Paints (35-16, 13-7) got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, collecting four-straight two-out hits from Tim Orr, Victor Figueroa, Sean Kolenich and Owen Wilson. Figueroa's drove home the game's first run and Kolenich's double made it 2-0.

Jackson (15-34, 4-16) got its lone run in the top of the third. Jake Keyl singled to lead off the inning, scoring on Ben Smith's RBI double, making it a one run game at 2-1.

Figueroa hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third, extending the Paints lead to 4-1. He hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth, making it 5-1.

 

Chillicothe would break things open in the bottom of the sixth, scoring six times on six hits and taking an 11-1 lead. Figueroa picked up his fourth hit and fifth RBI of the night in the inning, he also scored for the fourth time in the game.

Nick Falter (4-2) tossed a seven-inning complete game, surrendering one run on seven hits while striking out eight and walking one.
