Goats Rout the REX 16-6 in Run-Rule Victory

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Fireworks Friday Night, the Jackson Rockabillys run-ruled REX Baseball 16-6 in seven innings.

Each team had nine hits, but the Goats were able to take advantage of fifteen walks by the REX pitching staff. Seven Rockabillys hitters had at least one RBI with second baseman Jaxin Settlemires collecting five and centerfielder Griffin Cameron accumulating two. The Goats had two extra-base hits in the contest, a double from Cameron in the fifth and a triple from Settlemires in the sixth.

Lefty Danton Rinehart got the start for Jackson and also recorded the win, hurling five innings and giving up six runs while striking out seven REX hitters. Mason Krznarich threw the final two innings and allowed no runs and only one hit.

Next up, the Rockabillys continue their homestand on Saturday, July 15th, against the Clinton LumberKings, and A Band of Jones will perform after the contest as the third Extra Innings Band of the season.

The Goats finish the two-game set with the LumberKings on Sunday, July 16th, in what will be another Texas Roadhouse Family Sunday and will also feature the Tractor Supply Kids Korral.
