Goats Unable to Hold onto the Lead in 8-7 Loss to Catfish

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Wednesday night, the Rockabillys lost to the Cape Catfish 8-7 after Cape scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Goats pitcher Colton Brumley was injured badly in the contest when throwing a pitch. Prayers are greatly appreciated as he undergoes evaluation in Cape Girardeau.

Will Schnepf was the starter for the Rockabillys and threw four innings, allowing three runs and striking out five Catfish hitters. James Denten, Thomas Greeson, Brumley, and Dalton Rudd combined to throw the rest of the game with Denten giving up three runs and Brumley surrendering two runs.

The Goats offense outhit the Catfish thirteen to ten but ultimately couldn't outscore them. Mason Krznarich had a great night at the plate, going two for two with a double and two RBIs. Catcher Braden Vinyard also collected two RBIs in the game.

Next up for the Goats is a three-game homestand beginning on Thursday, July 6th, against Cape in another Throwback Thursday, which will feature $2.00 prices on 4 oz. peanuts, 16 oz. domestic beer, 16 oz. Coca-Cola products, hamburgers, and hotdogs.

On Friday, July 7th, the Rockabillys face the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, and afterwards, fans can stay to enjoy Friday Night Fireworks.
