Wesley Mann Homers and Drives in Three Runs in Goats Unlucky Defeat by Horseshoes

JACKSON, Tenn.—On Friday night, the Rockabillys lost 10-5 to the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes in the first game of the series.

The Goats offense scored 5 runs on 8 hits to Springfield's 10 runs on 14 hits. Catcher Wesley Mann had a productive night at the plate, going one for three with a homerun, a sacrifice fly, and three RBIs. Designated hitter Jake McCutcheon also put on a show as he legged out two triples and drove in a run.

Southpaw Danton Rinehart started for the Rockabillys and also took the loss. He had a rough outing, allowing six runs and seven hits, two of which were homeruns. Rinehart's record is now 1-3. Josh Furtado was the first man out of the bullpen and pitched two innings, surrendering four runs on four hits. Two-way player James Denten finished out the game on the mound for the Goats. He hurled 3.2 innings and gave up no runs while striking out five Horseshoes hitters.

Next up for the Rockabillys is the series finale with Springfield on Saturday, July 7th. The first 1,500 fans will receive a pop-up cowboy hat courtesy of PRA Group, and after the game, fans can stay to enjoy a performance by Vintage Band, the third Extra Innings Band of the summer.
