Prospect League Alumni Eddie King Jr. and Jake Munroe named to College World Series All-Tournament Team
The two University of Louisville standouts played in the Prospect League in 2022 and 2023.
Omaha, Neb. - The Prospect League is proud to recognize two outstanding alumni on exceptional 2025 college seasons, as Eddie King Jr. and Jake Munroe, both of the University of Louisville, were recently named by the NCAA to the 2025 Men's College World Series All-Tournament Team.
Eddie King Jr. earned Most Valuable Player honors at the Nashville Regional, had a two home run performance in the Super Regional, and went 6 for 14 with a double and 3 RBI during Louisville's World Series victory over Oregon State.
King Jr. spent the 2022 Prospect League season with the Alton River Dragons, batting .310 with 45 runs scored, 49 runs batted in, 7 doubles, 15 home runs, and 31 stolen bases across 49 games. He was named the Prospect League Mike Schmidt Player of the Year following the season.
Jake Munroe hit .353 with 6 hits, 1 home run, 11 runs scored, and 3 RBI during the College World Series. He also led the Cardinals in the NCAA Tournament with 11 runs scored and 4 home runs.
Munroe spent the 2022 Prospect League season with the Normal CornBelters, batting .259 with 4 doubles in 11 games played. He then spent the 2023 Prospect League season with the Thrillville Thrillbillies, batting .300 with 13 runs scored and 11 runs batted in across 10 games.
