Pancake, Orr Homer In Paints' 12-7 Win over West Virginia

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, used two five-run innings to propel them to their second consecutive win to start the season, beating the West Virginia Miners 12-7 Friday night at VA Memorial Stadium.

Chillicothe (2-0) jumped out to an early lead with a run in the second inning on a Josh McAlister single. They made it 2-0 in the third on a fielder's choice by Nate Dorinsky.

The Paints tacked on another five runs in the fifth inning, capped off by a three-run home run by catcher Trey Pancake, making it 7-0.

The West Virginia (0-2) struck back with one run in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, the they scored six runs on three errors, a walk, and four hits, tieing the game at 7-7.

Chillicothe answered immediately, scoring five runs to regain the lead, including a three-run home run off the bat of designated hitter Tim Orr.

Finally, Seth Evans stepped on the mound to shut out West Virginia in the eighth and ninth innings, securing the victory for the Paints 12-7.

The Chillicothe Paints will be back in action tomorrow night in West Virginia for a rematch with the Miners at 6:35 p.m. at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
