Rivalry Series and Trophy Games
College sports, and football in particular, are known for famous rivalries and games dubbed the “Iron Bowl” and the “Red River Rivalry” among many others. In the Midwest, playing for gridiron trophies such as the Illibuck, Floyd of Rosedale, and Paul Bunyan’s Axe add to the excitement. Similar traditions spill over into collegiate summer baseball with a collection of unique rivalries and traveling trophies among Prospect League teams with more developing each season. The teams involved have more to play for than just a win in the standings.
