CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, wasted no time at the plate, taking a 16-0 "run-rule" victory against the Johnstown Mill Rats Sunday night at VA Memorial Stadium in the opening round of the Prospect League playoffs.

Chillicothe scored 10 runs in the first inning. It started with a bases-loaded single off the bat of Tim Orr on the first pitch he saw. His single was preceded by a leadoff double from Brett Carson, a walk from Santrel Farmer, and finally a single from Tommy Thamann. Cameron Bowen stepped to the plate and ripped a bases-clearing double to left, making it a 4-0 lead. Nate Dorinsky followed up with a single, scoring another run for Chillicothe and making it 5-0. Carson would come back to the plate and notch his second hit of the inning, as well as another run for Chillicothe, pushing it to 6-0. Farmer stepped to the plate and scored another two runs for the Paints, extending the lead to 8-0. Thamann would get in the box and hit a sacrifice fly to deep center, scoring Carson for the second time in the inning. Orr then scored Thamann with a triple to left center, extending the lead to 10-0 after one inning.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third, Orr walked, scoring Carson again and bringing the score to 11-0

The Paints would add to their lead in the bottom of the fourth. After a leadoff triple from Dorinsky, Mike Sprockett singled him home, extending their lead to 12-0. With Sprockett on base, Carson hit an opposite-field two-run home run, extending Chillicothe's lead to 14-0. The Paints grabbed another run on a wild pitch with the bases loaded, taking a 15-0 lead heading into the top of the fifth.

In the bottom of the fifth, Dorinsky again led off with a triple and was brought home on a groundout to second from Sprockett, extending the lead to 16-0.

Paints starter Sebastian Escobar pitched five innings, collecting six punchouts and one hit allowed as well as no walks. Todd Bangston pitched the final two innings for Chillicothe, allowing two hits and striking out two.
