Broekemeier Walkoff Grand Slam Hands Alton Western Conference Title

After trailing 7-1 to Quincy Tuesday in the Western Conference Championship Game, Alton got it to a 7-4 ballgame going into the bottom of the ninth.

Erik Broekemeier then hit a walkoff grand slam, giving the River Dragons an 8-7 win, sending the second-year franchise to the Prospect League Championship Series.

Game one in Alton is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. CDT at Lloyd Hopkins Field. Chillicothe will host game two and, if necessary, game three.
