Prospect League Continues CBUA Partnership

MAHOMET, Ill. – For the second consecutive season, the Prospect League will partner with the Collegiate Baseball Umpires Alliance. The League began working with the CBUA for its umpire assignments under the direction of Umpire Coordinator Ron Whiting in 2022.

The CBUA includes over 1,300 active umpires from across the United States that are recruited through various college umpiring associations and are trained and evaluated through the CBUA's vast network of associates. The CBUA provides the highest quality of officiating, including umpires who have worked the NCAA Men's College World Series.

"Prospect League teams and players will continue to benefit from our association with the CBUA," said Commissioner David Brauer. "Employing CBUA umpires provides our players with an experience congruent to their college seasons. In what is often an underappreciated role, Ron Whiting provides great expertise in coordinating umpire assignments across a wide geographical footprint."

Whiting assigns college baseball umpires from Division I, II, III and Junior Colleges to more than 500 League games each season. He is a veteran umpire who has worked at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels. Whiting remains an active umpire for several NCAA Division I conferences. Whiting is also the CFO of Elite Umpires & Assigning, empowered by the Collegiate Baseball Umpires Alliance.
