D1Baseball.com Names Former Mill Rat as SEC Player of the Week

For the second consecutive week, a former Prospect League player earned a top SEC Player accolade. Former Johnstown Mill Rat Christian Scott, currently at the University of Tennessee, was named SEC Player of the Week by D1Baseball.com.  Scott follows former Danville Dan and current Auburn University player Cooper McMurrary, who received last week's honor from D1Baseball and the conference's official award.

From D1Baseball's SEC Extra (5/1):

Player of the Week

Christian Scott, Tennessee

In a four-game week capped by a sweep of Mississippi State, Scott went 6-for-10 with two doubles, two home runs, eight runs scored, nine RBIs and five walks. For the season, he's batting .295/.450/.538, and those numbers have been on the rise as of late. On the morning of April 1, he was batting .200, but as the calendar flips to May, he's knocking on the door of batting .300.
