LumberKings Slug Past Hoots In High Scoring Affair

CLINTON, IOWA - After dropping two of three to the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp, the Clinton LumberKings rebounded in a big way posting 11 runs against the O'Fallon Hoots on Saturday night in victory.

Clinton in the ball game scored in six separate innings and took the ball game 11-7.

On the mound Jacob Norris (Des Moines Area CC) got the nod. Norris had the strikeout pitch working in his four innings of work, striking out seven Hoots and not allowing a base hit.

Offensively it was a group effort for Clinton. Six men in the LumberKings' lineup had multiple hits and seven players were in the hit column as well. The LumberKings had 14 total hits on the night.

Although the Hoots fought back in the late innings the LumberKings never surrendered the lead and Nick Scanlon (Kirkwood CC) got the multi inning save, his first of the year in the 11-7 LumberKings' win.

Clinton now looks forward to tomorrow as they host the Hoots once again. It's "Bark In The Park" at NelsonCorp Field and the first Copa Day of the season.

First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
