Prospect League Announces 2024 Awards
The Prospect League proudly recognizes the 2024 Eastern and Western Conference All-Stars and four individual award winners!
MAHOMET, Ill. - The Prospect League proudly announces the 2024 Awards as voted on by the League's 18 field managers following the conclusion of the regular season.
The 2024 Awards recognize the best of the Prospect League from this past season and include the Eastern Conference All-Star Team, the Western Conference All-Star Team, the Roland Hemond Pro Prospect of the Year, the Galen Woods Fireman of the Year, the Manager of the Year, the ArmCare.com Pitcher of the Year, and the Mike Schmidt Player of the Year.
Awards have been announced individually throughout the week and conclude with the announcement of the 2024 Mike Schmidt Player of the Year.

Roland Hemond Pro Prospect of the Year
The Roland Hemond Pro Prospect of the Year is awarded to the league's top professional prospect.
This year's recipient is Chillicothe Paints OF Eric Colaco of Denison University.
Colaco, across 43 games, batted .396 with 65 hits, 53 runs, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 7 home runs, and 46 runs batted in. He also recorded 24 walks and stole 38 bases with a 1.090 on-base + slugging percentage.
The 2024 NCAA Division III Player of the Year led the Prospect League with 23 extra-base hits and ranked 2nd in batting average (.396), total bases (103), and sacrifice flies (6).
Galen Woods Fireman of the Year
The Galen Woods Fireman of the Year is awarded to the league's top relief pitcher.
This year's recipient is Jackson Rockabillys P Jaxson Lucas of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
Lucas, across 17 appearances, tossed 20.2 innings with a 0.87 earned run average allowing 7 hits, 9 walks, and 2 runs. He also struck out 28 batters with a 0.77 WHIP.
The Hoover, Alabama product led the Prospect League with 13 saves, 5 more than the next closest.
Manager of the Year
The Manager of the Year is given to the league's top field manager and is voted on by their peers.
This year's recipient is Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp Manager John Jakiemiec.
The only manager in Pistol Shrimp history led the team in their fifth Prospect League season to a 35-21 regular-season record with a 22-6 mark at home. The Pistol Shrimp were winners of the first-half Northwest Division and won the 2024 Prospect League Championship, the first in team history, by going undefeated (4-0) in the 2024 Prospect League Playoffs.
Jakiemiec led the Pistol Shrimp to 3rd in the Prospect League in batting average (.288), 3rd in doubles (105), 4th in slugging percentage (.405), and 5th in runs scored (391). On the mound, the Pistol Shrimp had the 5th-best ERA (5.06), the 2nd-most strikeouts (534), and the least hits allowed (395).
ArmCare.com Pitcher of the Year
The ArmCare.com Pitcher of the Year is awarded to the league's top pitcher.
This year's recipient is Clinton LumberKings P Ean DiPasquale of Minnesota State University.
DiPasquale, across 11 appearances, tossed 41.2 innings with a 1.30 earned run average allowing 28 hits, 8 walks, and 6 runs. DiPasquale put up a perfect 4-0 record with 1 save and struck out 40 batters with a 0.86 WHIP.
The Belleville, Illinois native led Prospect League pitchers of at least 40 innings in ERA (1.30), runs (6), hits (28), and WHIP (0.86).
Mike Schmidt Player of the Year
The Mike Schmidt Player of the Year is awarded to the league's top overall player.
This year's recipient is Chillicothe Paints OF Eric Colaco of Denison University.
Colaco, across 43 games, batted .396 with 65 hits, 53 runs, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 7 home runs, and 46 runs batted in. He also recorded 24 walks and stole 38 bases with a 1.090 on-base + slugging percentage.
The Richfield, Ohio native led Prospect League in extra-base hits (23), was 2nd in total bases (103) and batting average (.396), 3rd in runs scored (53) and slugging percentage (.628), 4th in home runs (7) and runs batted in (46), 5th in hits (65) doubles (15) and stolen bases (38), and 6th in on-base percentage (.462).
